Cross Curricular Priorities: The Cross Curricular Priorities address five important elements of technology, these are inquiring, creating, communicating, ethics and issues and operating within ICT's. By using this wiki, in particular the student place, students and teachers should get a chance to explore each one of these five key areas of technology. They will be able to inquire about the topic 'Recyclable Art' by taking the survey on Survey Monkey, this in a way is an introductory inquiry process for the teacher, as it enables them to see exactly how much their students really know about recycling and e-wate. Students will also get the chance to create, through their own recyclable artworks which will be posted on Blogster.
If a teacher was to use these activities within the classroom, the students would also get a chance to communicate with each other through the use of the Blogster page, by commenting on other students' works and also voicing their thoughts about thier own artworks. Students should also be able to comply with the ethics and issues because this wiki is set up by a studying teacher, so the students will understand the context of this site and hopefully respect that it is for educational purposes, and will help them shape their values as they create and explore the educational activities. Finally, since this site is interactive, students will be able to operate or learn how to operate the activities that are set out for them to complete. (QSA, 2007).

The wiki I have created is a resource for myself and for all teachers to help them with ideas and activities inside an art classroom. This wiki is also intended to educate everyone including students on the topic of 'Recylable Art'. Included in this site is an introduction which has some information about myself as a university student and as someone who is still learning to become a teacher. The wiki also has a KLA and curriculum materials page that will shed some light on how the concept of 'Recyclable Art' fits into the appropriate Technology and Visual Arts documents. There is also an Online Resource page that has the web links to pages I have sourced images from, as well as some interesting web sites about artists that recycle. To visit student samples about recycling and recyclable art, go to the student place and you will find three activities made from free online software that may be beneficial in your own classroom. Finally, there is some enjoyable yet educational materials made available on the extras page.

Student PlaceThis page has links to the three student samples mentioned on previous pages. Follow the links to the activities by clicking on the underlined text. There are also screen shots of each sample which gives a visualisation of each one. Please click on each link provided you may find that the software used to create the student samples are something that you would like to use yourself!1. Survey Monkey: This particular sample would be a beginning activity to test student knowledge. Survey Monkey enables you to make your own surveys with various question types on any subject. In this case it questions students on recycling as it fits in with the 'Recyclable Art' theme. http://www.surveymonkey.com/MySurvey_EditorFull.aspx?sm=hqWf3eqGerIjSW2PeKgTErvlLkK32Gsf%2fzOOS3wE3SI%3d

I have chosen to base my wiki on Visual Art because I really love the subject and have found some interesting resources that could be used as part of my wiki. My aim for this wiki site is to create an interactive and creative site about recyclable art. There is also an interesting article on e-waste which sits well with the recyclable art theme and will be one of the links I use in this wiki so that both teachers and students can learn more about computer wastage and recycling in general.
Teachers (or anyone else for that matter) who view this wiki site will notice the three student samples located in the student place, these activities are a Bubbl.us brainstorming activity, a survey on Survey Monkey and a Blogster page. I have not previously worked with any of these forms of software before this year, but have found them to be quite helpful. I hope that by viewing my site other teachers will be inspired to use more of the free online software available, I certainly had no idea how much was out there!

2. Bubbl.us: Bubbl.us is a brainstorming tool which enables students to create an online brainstorm page. For this particular page the student has made a brainstorm about the concept of their recyclable artwork and brainstormed about what materials they might like to use. This is part of the beginning process as it is a starting point for the recyclable art piece, but it can also be categorized as a development stage activity because the student is developing their concepts and ideas which will contribute to their final peice significantly.

Technology Essential Learnings also devide key points into Ways of Working and Knowledge and Understanding. This document states that "Technology is a human endeavor" (p.2), which is correct because without people to operate and interact with technology, it would not be as powerful. The first point in knowledge and understanding states: "New products and technologies are designed and developed to meet changing needs and wants of intended audiences" (p.2). In this day and age, the audience is forever becoming more tenologically advanced. Therefore introducing students to different technologies such as bubbl.us, Survey Money and Blogster will hopfully cater to an audience who are become more confident with ICTs every day. (QSA, 2007).
